Indian River County is the entryway to Florida’s Research Coast, home to several established and growing firms involved in the life sciences industry. Research entities such as Syngenta’s Vero Beach facility, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, University of Florida Entomology Lab, Veriato software design (formerly known as SpectorSoft), and Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Science, have established facilities on Florida’s Research Coast.
The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce is a founding partner in Florida's Research Coast Economic Development Coalition (FRCEDC), a regional economic development organization encompassing the four counties of Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee. Partner members are the primary economic development organizations in each of the counties and the President/CEO of CareerSource Research Coast, our workforce support agency covering the region. Partners collaborate to promote the region for new business rather than compete with one another.
