Tour of CVS Distribution Center a Success

Ten residents participated in the recent tour of the CVS distribution facility. The Chamber’s economic development office coordinated the tour, with Helene Caseltine providing a brief overview of the positive impact this industry has on our local economy in terms of job creation and diversifying the tax base.  

Ron Richmond, Senior Director of Logistics, and his colleagues guided the group through the 400,000 square foot facility, highlighting the efficiency of the Witron automation system.  The distribution facility has nearly 300 employees working two shifts, processing 175-million pieces (products) per year and serving 330 stores from mid-to-south Florida.  The Vero Beach center recently took over the former Southern Fulfillment warehouse on 90th Avenue to accommodate increased product handling and storage.
