Local Resources - Business Retention/Expansion
The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce can provide information and business intelligence data for new and expanding businesses. Chamber staff has access to numerous sources of information, including our GIS-sourced website www.indianriversites.com.
One-on-one counseling through SCORE and the Small Business Development Centers provides local companies, start-ups, and those new to the area ample information on establishing and operating a business in our area.
WeVenture, based at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, also offers counseling and workshops for small business owners and start-ups, focusing on women-owned businesses.
As part of our Existing Industry activities, the Chamber recognizes local businesses for their contributions to our community through our Industry Appreciation Awards program, celebrating the success of our local businesses either through architectural enhancements or community involvement. A list of those who received awards at our 2024 event this past October is available for download here, and enjoy a few photos from the event, too!
Through CareerSource Research Coast, which serves as our local workforce board, our office has access to programs administered by FloridaCommerce. CareerSource offers many training programs for new and incumbent workers, as does Indian River State College.
